Living on Manhattan's TriBeCa,

TriBeCa stands for Triangle Below Canal Street, literally designating the area's borders: Canal Street to the north, the water to the west, and Chambers Street to the south (and Broadway to the east). Decades ago it was a dusty neighborhood filled with warehouses but today it is one of Manhattan's most expensive areas home to celebrities and millionaires galore.

Housing in this area is expensive, there's no way around it. Because the area is so desirable for some many types of people, it is tough to find bargains. Housing does tend to get cheaper the closer you get to Chambers Street and Broadway, but it's all relative. Because it's so populated with wealthy people, TriBeCa isn't knows as being one of the friendliest places in Manhattan. It does have an upbeat and artistic feel to it though. The area is also very safe due to a large police presence here.

TirBeCa isn't known for it's huge nightlife scene and if this is your thing then take a five minute walk over to SoHo. However, some highlights of the TriBeCa bar scene are: the Grace, a chic lounge at 114 Franklin Street, known for its designer cocktails. The Brandy Library on Moore Street caters to a business crowd with gourmet food and a wide selection of - what else? - brandy. B Flat, in the basement of 277 Church, is a popular bar with Japanese food and drinks and a relaxing ambiance.

For outdoor activities, Washington Market Park on Greenwich Avenue and Chambers Street has a playground for kids and benches shaded by trees for grown-ups. The waterfront, just past West Street, has jogging paths and a clean grassy lawn that is always frequented in the warm weather months by sunbathers and Frisbee players.

TriBeCa is served by two subway stations: Franklin Street (1 train) and Chambers Street (1,2, and 3 trains). The area is close enough to the Financial District to be able to take advantage of the many transportation options leaving that area.

TriBeCa is more likely off-limits to ordinary mortals who do not have celebrity status, a well-paying job or a trust fund. If you find that you can afford to live here, then you will enjoy a great, vibrant location near everything you need. You will be safe and get a degree of convenience you can not, even if you live on the outskirts of town to find. There are many more affordable options, but just fun to live and you will have more money in their pockets to spendenjoy life in New York.

Some common shapes and symbols used are fish, birds, turtles, sharks, waves, rain and the sun. Hawaiian tattoos have meanings such as tribe membership, celebration, self expression and some are done simply for adornment.
Native American - Tattoos for the Native American people have more of a spiritual significance and represent a connection with the earth. My Tribe Game Review

My Tribe is all about the survival skills of a group of people stranded in an island after shipwrecked. On the beautiful tropical island, you guide the island-dwellers telling them what to do, miz and match some magical portion and sprinkle them onto the islanders.

With the reality TV show "Survival", also features on the surviving and adventure skills based on the basic human instinct and natural resources, more and more games are coming up with the same theme. One of the similar games that My Tribe has with other games is Virtual Villagers. Virtual Villagers also based on the villagers and how to keep growing the entire village, farming, and all. So if you are familiar with Virtual Villagers, you should be able to skip most of the intro that this game My Tribe has.

Plant some crops, harvest some food....catch some fish....assign and get some islanders to be in charge of some specific tasks. Build new homes to the islanders by getting wood and stone to build some huts. Use as much as you can the resources available. Same as Virtual Villagers, My Tribe also continues to work even when you have switch off your games. People continue to gather food, giving birth to children, harvest and all the activities.

One thing to take note is that the opposite may came true. People will grow old, and those that are too old may not be able to gather food or able to produce kids anymore. So the entire islanders may be wiped out and become a greatly deserted island...again! So come back to this game as often as you can to check out your tribe here.

The portion to sprinkle onto the islanders makes this game unique and different from the villagers. If you mix the portions correctly, the it serves its purpose to be helpful to the islanders. If not...well...the magical portion doesn't work.

Try out the free trial of My Tribe.

Indian Legend of Corn Hair, a Viking Who Came to Manhattan

Rune Mysteries Manhattan Legend of Corn Hair

Reider Serwin, who wrote "The Viking Red Man" traced more than 1,000 words in the Mohawk, Iroquois and Algonquin language to old Norse. Long before the Dutch infused their language on the Indians. The Dutch only arrived in 1626 to buy the Island of Manhattan for approximately $24.00!

The Legend of Corn Hair

When Henry Hudson, in September 1609, sailed north he encountered a peaceful tribe know to History as the "Stockbridge Indians."

The Dutch built a profitable trade with the Indians using watered rum in return for beaver pelts. One of the traders was Jacob Van Mord. He recorded some of the legends of the Indians.

He was especially interested in the tale of Warriors in Long Boats an old Indian legend. The fiercest of whom was their leader called "Corn Hair," by the Indians.

In 1743, when the Dutch tried to convert the tribe to Christianity, they refused. He reported to his superiors that the Pagan beliefs of the tribe, which was called the "Tribe of the Long Boat" were still very strong. They were afraid that the Vikings would return again and punish them if they left the Norse Pagan Gods for Christianity.

Little is know about the fierce Viking Warriors who so impressed the Indians. Only a few Rune Mysteries were found on the rocks, but no official authorities have tried to look into the rock inscriptions to find the true source of the Legends. But you can on the Net. I am leaving you good key words so you can do your own research.

Rune Mysteries New Jersey

In Pemberton, New Jersey, an inscribed stone axehead was found. A literal translation of the runes found on it would be "The Swedes took out Charter." Again there was no investigation.

Rune Mysteries Rhode Island

Rhode Island has a tower in Newport that has been the object of controversy for years. The official finding from the politically correct is that it is a flour mill.

But the Runic Inscription and the fact that it resembles no other structure in America, but resemble structures in Norway, lends proof that it is probably a small fortress lighthouse built by the Vikings.
